My Chosen Charity for 2026: The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust

Each year, I choose a charity to support through Beadie Photography. It is my small way of giving something back while doing the job I love. For 2026, that charity is the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.

This is a choice that comes from the heart, based on lived experience and a deep appreciation for the quiet, vital work this organisation does every single day.

Who Is the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust?

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, often known as EPT, is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting people affected by ectopic pregnancy. They focus on early pregnancy loss caused by ectopic pregnancy, providing trusted medical information, emotional support, and peer support to anyone who needs it.

Ectopic pregnancy is a serious and life-threatening condition. It occurs when an embryo implants outside of the womb, most commonly in a fallopian tube. Tragically, the pregnancy can never be saved. In the UK, ectopic pregnancy affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies and is the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester.

Despite how common it is, ectopic pregnancy is still not talked about enough. Many people do not realise the symptoms, risks, or emotional impact until they experience it themselves. That is where the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust becomes invaluable.

Why This Charity Matters to Me

In late 2025, I experienced an ectopic pregnancy firsthand. It resulted in emergency surgery to remove both the pregnancy and my left fallopian tube. Like many people in that situation, everything happened quickly, and nothing felt quite real for a while.

In the weeks that followed, the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust became a constant source of support for me. I found myself returning to their website again and again. Sometimes, it was to answer questions that appeared at two in the morning; other times, it was to help me understand what my body had been through. Often, it was simply to feel less alone.

They helped me process the emotional impact, understand the medical reality, and most importantly, find hope for the future. The comfort, clarity, and compassion they provide is genuinely second to none.

Why Support Is So Important

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust does extraordinary work with limited resources. Their services rely heavily on donations to continue offering information, support forums, peer support, and advocacy.

By supporting this charity, you are helping ensure that someone else, awake in the middle of the night and searching for answers, finds reassurance instead of fear. You are helping to save lives through education and awareness. And you are helping people navigate one of the most difficult experiences they may ever face.

How I Am Supporting the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust in 2026

Throughout 2026, I will be fundraising for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust alongside my photography work. Five per cent of all bookings made in 2026 will be donated directly to the charity, allowing every wedding, portrait session, and photoshoot to contribute to their vital work. In addition, I will be supporting them through awareness sharing and occasional fundraising initiatives throughout the year.

If you would like to support this cause further, you can also donate via my JustGiving page. Any contribution, no matter the size, genuinely makes a difference.
